Valiant Finance selected to represent NSW in Tel Aviv Landing Pad
Valiant has been selected to represent New South Wales as part of a delegation of Australian startups to the Tel Aviv Landing Pad. The delegation was announced by the Hon. Minister for Industry, Resources and Energy, Anthony Roberts, at NSW Parliament House.
“NSW is without question Australia's startup state, with about half of all startups listing NSW as their primary place of business and with major strengths in the fintech and cyber-security sectors. This is a fantastic opportunity for some of our best and brightest fintech and cyber startups to engage with other global players and to showcase NSW’s capabilities in these sectors.” said Minister Roberts.
As part of the program, Valiant will access and network with a range of world leaders in innovation, participate in DLD Tel Aviv - Israel’s biggest international innovation industry event of the year - and explore further venture capital and commercialisation partners under a new innovation agreement between NSW and Israel.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have been invited to participate in the Tel Aviv Landing Pad program. Tel Aviv is fast earning its place as a leading global fintech hub and the program provides a fantastic opportunity to gain insight into the impact fintech is having on financial services in other regions,” said Co-founder and Head of Product, Ritchie Cotton.
“We have been keenly watching the fintech scene in Israel evolve and have no doubt there is a huge amount we can learn there and bring back to the Australian fintech ecosystem.”
“Australia is becoming a hotbed of activity for fintech, and we are happy to share our key learnings and insights with the like minded Israeli tech and investment community. By bringing together the best entrepreneurs and multinationals from our two communities, we aim to forge strong, business relationships,” said Co-founder and Managing Director Alex Molloy.
The delegation will leave for Israel on 17 September 2016.
